The International Telecommuncations Oragnization is considering sharing the HRPT, APT, and WEFAX band 1675-1710 MHz with cellular phone users. As a consequence of such a change, current HRPT, APT, and WEFAX users can expect some interference in their satellite signals. In order to protect this frequency band, it is essential that your satellite receiving station is registered with your national PTT or the WMO. Please register with Dr. Donald Hinsman, or browse the WMO Satellite Activities page Points of Contact in the Dept. of Commerce and NOAA are: Richard Barth (rbarth@noaa.gov) Dave McGinnis (DFMcginnis@rdc.noaa.gov)
Or you may fill out the Satellite Ground
Station Customer Questionnaire.
