CoastWatch images are produced four times daily for all the coastal waters of the United States. These images are produced operationally on NESDIS's Central Environmental Satellite Computer System (CEMSCS) using orbits from NOAA-14, NOAA-15, and NOAA-16. The images are then sent for archival and on-line access. Near real-time data may be obtained from the Regional Nodes; retrospective data may be obtained from the Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System (CLASS). Images and products are available free of charge to governmental and academic users, as long as the user signs the Memorandum of Agreement which defines allowed usage of CoastWatch data.
