The Environmental Products System (EPS) area of the Products Systems Branch of the Information Processing Division is responsible for a number of environmental datasets and images derived from the NOAA polar orbiting satellites. Detailed information is given under each product heading. Data may be acquired retrospectively from the National Climatic Data Center and the Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System.
Sea Surface TemperatureThe sea surface temperature products include SST anomalies, contour charts, and analyzed fields. Also provided are maps of hot spots, degree heating weeks, and ocean surface winds, which are useful for monitoring coral bleaching at various sites around the globe. |
AerosolsThe Aerosol products consist of weekly, monthly, and daily contour plots and global analyses of aerosol optical thickness. |
|
|
Radiation BudgetThe Radiation Budget products include daily and monthly mean global maps of outgoing longwave (infrared) radiation and absorbed and available incoming shortwave (solar) radiation. |
CoastWatchThe Coastwatch products are images of albedoes, brightness temperatures, sea surface temperatures, solar zenith angle, satellite zenith angle, and relative azimuth angle. The images cover the coastlines of Alaska, Hawaii, the West and East coasts, Great Lakes, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean. |
